Meet Our Attorneys

Preston R. Young

Preston R. Young is an associate at Powers & Miller. Preston focuses on defense litigation involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, insurance coverage, and general personal injury.

Preston graduated from St. Mary's College in 2006 with a B.A. in Communications. While at St. Mary's College, Preston played Division I baseball where he was the second all-time career home run hitter and an all West Coast Conference outfielder. He was recently named to the St. Mary's College All-Decade Team, which is an award recognizing the baseball program's top 20 players of the last decade.

After Preston graduated from St. Mary's College he began working for RR Donnelley full-time while attending law school. Preston earned his Juris Doctorate in 2011 from Golden Gate University School of Law. While at Golden Gate, Preston was an Associate Editor for the Golden Gate University School of Law Environmental Law Journal and was named to the Dean's List every semester. He was also a recipient of the Phillip Burton Endowed Law Scholarship and was awarded the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Practical Legal Writing.

Prior to joining Powers & Miller, Preston was a graduate legal intern and attorney at Philip M. Andersen & Associates where he practiced insurance defense litigation.

Preston is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted in the Northern District of the United States District Court of California as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Preston and his wife Brittany currently reside in Land Park with their son Landon.
