Powers Miller is pleased to announce that two of their lawyers have been included in the 2023 list of Super Lawyers. Taylor Turville was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and Jim Miller was again listed as a Super Lawyer in the area of personal injury defense. Super Lawyers gives the annual Rising Star designation to lawyers under 40 years of age or who have fewer than 10 years in practice and demonstrate outstanding career accomplishments. Super Lawyers selects lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement through independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive a Super Lawyer honor. The annual selections are made using a multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Taylor joined Powers Miller in the spring of 2019 and handles the defense of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and property line dispute claims. She also works with several of the partners in the firm on catastrophic, high exposure cases.
Jim is a founding partner of Powers Miller who besides being honored as a Super Lawyer, has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2016 and a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA) since 2005. Jim handles primarily high exposure, catastrophic injury cases on behalf of insureds and self-insureds.
Taylor and Jim continue the tradition of Powers Miller attorneys being recognized by Super Lawyers. They join Rob Bennett who was selected a rising star Super Lawyer in 2019.
